On Saturday, April 25, 2020 we will hold
the 6th annual Endurance Runs through the Canyons of the Historic Western States Trail.
Welcome to the Canyons Endurance Runs, a premier mountain ultra trail race run along the historical Western States Trail and now a Western States 100 Golden Ticket Race!!
Participants will experience some of the most scenic and challenging sections of the iconic WS Trail as they cover up to 15,000 feet of gain through the Canyons between Swinging Bridge and the famous river crossing at Rucky Chucky. Your limits will be tested and your finish will be hard fought as this is the most rugged and difficult of sections of the Western States Trail, RUN TWICE.
Along the trail, runners will behold panoramic Sierra vistas, descend into intimate canyon gullies filled with vibrant ferns and fauna, and gaze up into lush canopies of Oak and Pine. You’ll dip your toes into the rushing waters of the historic American River and cross mountain streams and old wooden bridges through historic settlements from California’s gold rush days. You might even hear an echo of old prospectors and mules on their quest for the mother lode as you follow the same trail they did over 150 years ago.
As you run, you’ll follow in the footsteps of ultra-running’s own pioneers- the likes of Gordy Ainsleigh, Ann Trason, and Tim Twietmeyer, all legendary runners who helped to make this world-famous trail so special.
The Canyons Endurance Runs will feature two distances: a 100K and a 25K. The 25K is a fundraiser for the Foresthill Schools athletic programs and for maintenance of the Western States Trail.
The post party will feature hot grilled food with lots of cold drinks to enjoy. Bring your family and friends and we will feed them too, no one is turned away from our famous trip-tip burritos and tacos, homemade rice, beans, guacamole and salsa!
The 100K is a UTMB qualifying race worth 4 points and a Western States 100 Qualifier as well as a Golden Ticket race!
Race Start Times:
The 100K start time is 5:30 am.
The 25K start time is 7:00 am.
Bibs will be handed out race morning only from 4:00-5:25 am for 100K runners and 5:45-7:00 am for 25K runners. Race swag will be available at the finish line.

To put it simply- our volunteers allow us to do what we do! We show our appreciation to all of our volunteers with great swag and an invitation to our finish-line party. If you'd like to help out please click HERE.
We have a NO REFUND, DEFERRAL OR TRANSFER POLICY. It is very expensive and time consuming to organize and produce a trail running event. Most costs (swag, insurance, application and permit fees, emergency services, preparation time, etc.) have been incurred well in advance. Even a small percentage of runners requesting refunds, deferrals or transfers would be prohibitive. Thank you for your understanding.
